When flying a First Person View (FPV) drone, it's crucial to understand the basic controls. The four main control inputs are throttle, pitch, roll, and yaw. Throttle controls the altitude, pitch tilts the drone forward and backward, roll tilts it left and right, and yaw rotates the drone horizontally.
Your transmitter will have two control sticks. The left stick usually manages throttle and yaw, while the right stick controls pitch and roll. Practice maneuvering the drone in an open area to get comfortable with these controls before attempting complex flights.
FPV drones are flown using goggles that provide a live feed from the drone's camera. Ensure you have a clear connection between your drone and the FPV device to maintain a stable video feed. Adjust the channels and frequencies to match those of your drone and goggles.
Many drones have different flight modes such as Angle, Horizon, and Acro mode. Angle mode is great for beginners as it self-levels the drone. Horizon mode offers more freedom but still self-levels when the controls are centered. Acro mode gives complete control to the pilot.
Lastly, always remember to fly your FPV drone responsibly. Be aware of your surroundings, respect the privacy of others, and follow all local drone regulations. Keep your drone within line of sight and avoid flying near airports or restricted areas.
